You were born in the month of Shabaan and brightened the house of Ali
Your father's heart filled with joy and grief, oh standard bearer of Husayn
3.
You are the hope of Ali, the wish and desire of Ali
You're the answered prayer of Ali, you're a warrior of excellence

Your first glance was of your master Husayn, for whom you fought so valiantly
With your dying breath you called out, my brother, my brother
5.
At eleven you were at Siffin, your radiant face covered by armour
Ibn-e-Shaasa sent seven sons that you slayed with ultimate ease

Your dear mother was Ummul Baneen, of a tribe of renowned warriors
Your father the champion of Khaybar, your gallantry a certainty
7.
Ja'ffar was so brave and loyal, for
his arms cut-off he'll be given wings
Oh Abbas your arms too were severed, your status in the heavens guaranteed

Oh Abbas call us to your shrine, Oh Abbas call us to your shrine
Oh Abbas I beg you to call, us to your shrine in Karbala
